Instructions for Multiplayer PG DOS Setup

MFP.ZIP

Fixscen.exe
Mpg.bat
Patch.exe

A) Unzip the compressed files into the main PG directory (i.e C:\PG or C:\Panzer)
B) Run Patch.exe if you need to upgrade to PG DOS ver 1.2, check above the DOS prompt when exiting game to find out which version you are running.

MPG.ZIP BAK.ZIP
Game050.scn Game002.scn
Map50.set Map02.set
Map50.stm Map02.stm
Scenstat.bin Scenstat.bin
Mapnames.str Mapnames.str
Panzequp.eqp Panzequp.eqp

A) Create a new subdirectory in PG\DAT called MPG.
B) Create another new subdirectory in PG\DAT called BAK

Your newly created directory structure should now look like this:

PG\DAT\MPG
      \BAK

C) Unzip the compressed MPG files into your newly created MPG directory.
D) Unzip the compressed BAK files into your newly created BAK directory.

That's it!!

To play the Balkans 44 scenario you must type this at the PG DOS prompt:

mpg 50 mpg

So you have to go to C:\PG>
And then type in "mpg 50 mpg", don't forget to leave a space after you type "mpg" and "50"!

All you should have to do now is select the Warsaw Scenario, which has now been overwritten with the Balkans 44 Scenario.

The Balkans Scenario will be overwritten with the Warsaw Scenario when you exit the game. So your PG game will always be in it's original state.

When ever you recieve a new Multiplater Player Game, just place it in your PG\DAT\MPG directory and type in the new scenario number when running MPG.BAT. (i.e. instead of typing in "mpg 50 mpg", you would type in the number of the new scenario, 51, 52, 84 etc.).

NOTE: EVERYTIME YOU WANT TO LOAD A SAVED GAME FILE FROM A MULTIPLAYER SCENARIO, YOU MUST RUN MPG.BAT FOR IT TO WORK.

Revised 06-15-99

The author's original version, dated 12-97, has been modified in order to achieve a greater balance between the opposing forces. Starting Allied prestige has been boosted by 3500 points and the original Panzequp file has been replaced with the "Ultimate Panzer General I Equipment File, Version 2.3, 17 September, 1998".

Windows & Macintosh Installation

This scenario may be installed and played on both the Panzer General Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Remove the Warsaw scenario file (Game002.scn) from the Panzer General Scenario folder and store it in a safe place. Remove the Mapnames.str and Panzequp.eqp files from the Panzer General Data folder and store in a safe place.

Rename the new scenario file (Balkans.scn) to Game002.scn and place a copy into the Panzer General Scenario folder. Place copies of the new Mapnames.str and Panzequp.eqp files into the Panzer General Data folder.

Launch Panzer General and select the Warsaw scenario. Continue game play as you would with the standard Panzer General scenarios.

This scenario may also be played as a Cheyenne PBM game providing both players have copies of this scenario installed within their respective Panzer General folders.
